June 28, 2004 American Express - Cheapskate?
As if it isnt bad enough to be told glowingly after every service ace at Wimbledon's centre court that it has been sponsored, to hear the amount being paid for such publicity by American Express is 25 pounds is an insult. Just because Wimbledon, the BBC or whomever is not aware of the going price, doesnt mean that American Express should expect to be thought of as anything but cheap and tawdry for pushing such a deal. Now multiply the amount by at least 10 and make sure this residual is given to charity , and perhaps we Wimbledon folk will raise our tawdry rating
