Malcolm Allan Malcolm is the founder and a director of three companies: Inergy, which specialises in the creation of intellectual capital through creativity and innovation, Authentic Transformational Leadership, a company which enables individuals and groups to realise their leadership potential and the development of people as the true brand of organisations; and Placebrands, a company which, as its name suggests, enables places to develop their brand, which he created with Simon Anholt, Sicco Van Gelder and Niclas Ljungberg. He has worked in the UK for central and local government, for private sector consultancies PA and VH&A, and set up and run a number of private training and business support companies. Highlights include Director of “Enterprising Northern Ireland” for LEDU in Belfast and an adviser to UK HMG on inner city enterprise and technology transfer, CEO of two Training and Enterprise Councils and a Business Link, prior to creating the Learning and Business Link Company. His companies have won the IIP UK Best Partner award three times. Malcolm has also won a CISCO/Inc. magazine award for Innovative Use of the Internet for his work on the GlobalPartnership, a web-based international trade initiative linking business in the UK to the rest of the world. He has led the creation of several branding and economic development programmes, such as “Enterprising Northern Ireland”, “Locate in Kent”, the “Kent Prospects” County brand and Lbl.com. Malcolm is the co-author of The Local Economic Development Puzzle, and a contributor to Can Dothe American Way. a study of US economic development which he undertook with a GermanMarshall Fund Fellowship.
